Therapeutic Environments

The mission of AgeSong is to create therapeutic environments; places that lovingly serve people in being who they are. In a therapeutic environment people feel safe and supported in living all the different dimensions of who they are, from their joys and pleasures to their illnesses and frailties. Such an environment cares not only for the changing physical needs of residents but for their emotional, spiritual and psychological needs as well.

There are four areas of focus that contribute to a therapeutic environment:

Care
A holistic approach to care that goes well beyond the thorough physical care we provide for our residents;

Specialized Programs
A diverse offering of programs and activities that enliven our residents’ daily lives and celebrate the value of being an elder;

People
The combined efforts of our experienced management team, spirited staff, and truly professional partners that we team with to provide the best care possible; and

Settings
An environment and ambiance that is full of light and life—and seamlessly integrates the inner and outer communities of our homes.

In our therapeutic environment we pay attention to the unique needs and subtle changes within our residents. Individual care plans are created and followed by an interdisciplinary team including any number of professionals: physicians, caregivers, nurses, social workers, conservators, licensed mental health professionals and supervised therapy interns. These individualized care plans are comprehensive and provide an array of care and specialized services.
