Through AgeSong Institute, a program of Pacific Institute, AgeSong communities act as practicum sites for a unique 1–2 year internship program designed to promote a developmental process in which interns and trainees move into the role of existential facilitator, counselor, and therapist. This internship is an important stage in the process of becoming a professional therapist, healer, and elder. In addition, interns and trainees are encouraged to take an active role in carrying out the program’s research and educational goals. For more information, please contact AgeSong Institute at (415) 861-5455, or send an email to info@pacificinstitute.org.
The AgeSong International Visitors Program includes helping with and participating in group activities, attending training sessions, and being a companion for elders when they go for outings. We accept two international students per month. During the four- to eight-week program, food will be provided for five days and lodging for seven days a week.
